ABU DHABI TO DUBAI ENTRY POLICY IS HAVING BIG CHANGES FOR TOURISTS & RESIDENTS!
Abu Dhabi’s government is preparing for a complete stop on the city’s entry restrictions from the 24th of December 2020! Travel restrictions between UAE's emirates have been in place since March 2020. New COVID 19 precautionary measures in Abu Dhabi have now been put in place to control the pandemic’s effects and the potential spread of COVID-19.
 
 
 
The policy change will affect tourists from overseas, with passengers traveling from ‘Green List’ countries into the country with a reduced quarantine period. The self isolation period from the ‘Green List’ countries is only as long as they receive a negative results from the PCR test on arriving into Abu Dhabi Airport!

From the prior 14-day quarantine period, it is now only 10 days. The Green List of countries will be updates every 14 days, PCR tests will have to be taken by all travellers on arrival on day 6 and day 12 for international travellers staying during these durations.
 


 


ROAD BORDER UPDATES
 


Starting 24th of December 2020, the checkpoint between Dubai and Abu Dhabi will have an update! You will still need a negative PCR/DPI test to enter Abu Dhabi but the validity of the test will increase from 48 hours to 72 hours.
 





If you are crossing road borders into Abu Dhabi after arriving into any of the other emirates will have to follow the rules mentioned above! Only those that participated in the National Vaccination Program phase III trials (golden star or ‘E’ in their AlHosn App) will be exempt of the rules!

 
 
DPI TESTS ON THE BORDERS
 
 
You will not be able to take the DPI test on road borders between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, it will close from the 24th of December 2020. It is still not certain that the DPI screening centers in Dubai (Al Khawaneej and Mina Rashed) will remain open, however use the SEHA app to take bookings.
 

 
TOURISTS INTO ABU DHABI
 

 
Entry into the Abu Dhabi will be based on a grading system! The ‘Green List’ countries will be able to enter Abu Dhabi with a quarantine period until they receive a negative test. Those travelling from non ‘Green List’ countries have to follow the 10 day quarantine period.
 


WHAT YOU NEED TO TRAVEL INTO ABU DHABI AIRPORT FROM OVERSEAS
 


International travellers coming into Abu Dhabi need to carry a negative PCR test 96 hours prior to travel and fill a form from the airlines/destination airports stating the location and contact details for the stay’s duration in the UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi.
 

 
IF IN CONTACT WITH PEOPLE INFECTED WITH COVID19 DURING THE QUARANTINE PERIOD
 


 
Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee has now reduced the self isolation period for those who have come in contact to those infected with COVID 19 from 14 days to 10 days. The above mentioned will have to take a test on the 8th day of the quarantine period and receive a negative test result.

 
 
TOURISM ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS IN ABU DHABI
 



On December 10th, the Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee for COVID 19 Pandemic has announced that all the tourism, economic, entertainment, cultural activities will fully continue before the year ends in Abu Dhabi. This has been made possible by the successful implementation of the precautionary measures made to halt the spread of the virus to continuously maintain the low rates of cases in the city.
 


After the relaxation of the COVID 19 precautionary measures in Abu Dhabi, the doors have been open to getting a seat at some of the biggest sporting events in Abu Dhabi (with limited capacity) in Abu Dhabi next year! Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming event on January 23rd for the UFC257 involving Conor McGregor against Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi. Dana White has also given the public a hint via twitter about an event to take place at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena!
